Aspen-Cañada Blanch Seminar Alumni Meeting

 

Aspen Institute España and Cañada-Blanch Foundation hosted a session for Alumni of the Aspen-Cañada Blanch Seminar with the participation of Iñaki Gil, journalist at El Español and founder of El Mundo, last Tuesday, October 24.

 

Iñaki Gil

Iñaki Gil (Vitoria, 1958) holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of Navarra. He worked as a journalist in the Basque Country, Catalonia and Madrid. He began his career in Vitoria, as a correspondent for the newspaper ‘Ya’. He worked for ‘Diario 16’ in Madrid and Barcelona. Founder of “El Mundo”, he directed the edition of this newspaper in the Basque Country and was deputy director for 19 years. This book is the result of his experience as a correspondent in France in two singularly agitated periods: the end of Mitterrand and the beginning of Chirac’s mandate and Macron’s years in the Elysée. He is currently an international political analyst for ‘El Español’.

 

Aspen – Cañada Blanch Seminar

Aspen Institute España and the Cañada Blanch Foundation hold the annual Aspen – Cañada Blanch Seminar on “Leadership and Values in Europe” at the Parador de El Saler (Valencia). The Seminar aims to reflect and discuss current issues and the challenges of leadership in the 21st century with young emerging leaders between the ages of 25 and 30 years old.

The V Edition of the Seminar was held from June 9 to 11, 2023 and was moderated by Marian Ahumada, Professor of Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid and Aspen España Fellow, and Lara Jiménez de Parga, Professor of Philosophy of Law at the University of Barcelona and Senior Design Researcher.

The Seminar was supported by the Secretaría de Estado para la Unión Europea and Hablamos de Europa iniciative.

 

Aspen lnstitute España is an independent foundation and partner of the Aspen Institute in the United States. It is a forum for debate that offers a free and plural space to promote dialogue from civil society on leadership, values, and public policy. The Cañada-Blanch Foundation was established in 1970, thanks to an initial donation from the Valencian businessman Vicente Cañada Blanch. Its main purpose was and continues to be the promotion of culture and the promotion of young students, the management of cultural activities, with special dedication to the advancement of research, thought, social debate, and the arts, both in the Valencian Community and in the United Kingdom.
