Seminar on “Geopolitics, security and disruptive technologies”
Aspen Institute España and Fundación Telefónica will hold a Seminar on “Geopolitics, security and disruptive technologies” next May 17 to 19 2024 at the Parador de La Granja (La Granja de San Ildefonso, Segovia). This seminar is part of the Tech & Society Program that we organize in collaboration with Fundación Telefónica, and will be moderated by José M. de Areilza, Secretary General of Aspen Institute España, and Luis Villa, independent strategy consultant and Aspen España Fellow.
This seminar will bring together young people, aged between 25 and 45, from different sectors of civil society, to meet and reflect on current issues through a debate guided by expert moderators. These seminars allow participants to delve into current and urgent leadership challenges. The debate is generated around contemporary texts and guided by moderators who engage and encourage discussion among the participants. The core of the seminars is made up of a group of prominent young people, including business entrepreneurs, people from the public sector, academics, journalists and others.
Aspen Institute España and Fundación Telefónica held first edition of the Tech & Society Progra in 2017. Now in its seventh edition, the Programme has become the main forum in Spain for reflection on the major issues raised by advances in digital technology. The 6th edition brought together leaders from all sectors of civil society, including Evgeny Morozov, a writer and researcher specialising in the political and social implications of technology, to discuss the new technological challenges and their influence on areas as diverse as human relations, politics, education, culture, economics and medicine.
