He is one of the top jazz musicians of the Spanish music scene. Pianist, composer, and producer, he is PhD in Art History and Musicology by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and graduated from Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), and the University of Nevada in Las Vegas (Las Vegas, USA). He currently resides in Estonia, where he is the director of the Tartu University Viljandi Culture Academy. Previously he was the founder director of the jazz department at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, from 2003 to 2015, and Dean of Graduate studies from 2013 to 2015. He is a former council member of the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC) and a board member of the International Association of Jazz Schools (IASJ).
