Timothy Garton Ash
historian, journalist, and Professor of European Studies at Oxford University.
He is a British historian and journalist known for the brilliance with which he has documented the transformation of Europe over the last quarter century. He is Professor of European Studies at Oxford University and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institute, Stanford University. He writes regularly for The New York Review of Books, The Guardian, The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. Garton Ash's work is often referred to as a "history of the present".
Carolina Fernández Castrillo
Professor of Cyberculture and Transmediality in the Department of Communication at the University Carlos III of Madrid
She is a cultural manager and lecturer in Transmedia Literacy and Cyberculture at the Carlos III University of Madrid. She is part of the TECMERIN research group as promoter of the line on "Image technologies and innovation: media archaeology". She holds a European PhD cum laude from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Sapienza Università di Roma. Her study on the digital avant-garde obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award UCM, the Mention of Excellence by the Royal Complutense College at Harvard and an invitation as Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. She is currently leading the international project "Digital Media Culture: Intercreativity and Public Engagement" at the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities, Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia.
Anu Bradford
Professor of Law, Henry L. Moses Professor of International Law and Organizations at Columbia Law School Director, European Legal Studies Center
She is a renowned academic recognised for her expertise on the regulatory power of the European Union and its global impact. She is known for coining the term "Brussels effect", which refers to the EU's strong influence on global markets. Her book "The Brussels Effect: How the European Union Rules the World", published in 2020, was praised as one of the best books of the year by Foreign Affairs. In September 2023 he published his latest book, "Digital Empires: The Global Battle to Global Battle to Regulate Technology. She currently holds the positions of director of the Center for European Legal Studies, a scholar at the Chazen Institute for Global Business at Columbia Business School. He is also a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).
Ángel Ubide
CEO of the Citadel Fund, member of the Executive Committee of the Euro50 Group and of the Economic Club of New York.
He is the Head of Economic Research of the Citadel fund. Prior to joining Citadel in 2018, Mr. Ubiide held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, D.E. Shaw and Tudor Investment Corporation. He began his career as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In parallel to his financial services career, Mr. Ubide has been deeply involved in the global policy discussion, largely as a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He is a member of the Advisory Council on Economic Affairs of the Spanish Government, of the Steering Committee for the Euro 50 Group, of the Advisory Board of Esade EcPol, and of the Economic Club of New York.
Claudio Borio
Head of the Monetary and Economic Department
He was appointed Head of the Monetary and Economic Department on 18 November 2013. At the BIS since 1987, Mr Borio has held various positions in the Monetary and Economic Department (MED), including Deputy Head of MED and Director of Research and Statistics as well as Head of Secretariat for the Committee on the Global Financial System and the Gold and Foreign Exchange Committee (now the Markets Committee). From 1985 to 1987, he was an economist at the OECD, working in the country studies branch of the Economics and Statistics Department. Prior to that, he was Lecturer and Research Fellow at Brasenose College, Oxford University. He holds a DPhil and an MPhil in Economics and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the same university.

He holds a degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of Seville, an advanced degree in Music from the Joaquín Turina Conservatory in Madrid, and a Masters in Foundation Management from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and has dedicated his professional career to teaching, performance and musical and theatrical production. He has been professor of Theatre at the University of Oregon, director of programmes in the non-profit sector. He is currently the president of the Fundación Teatro Joven / LaJoven, a cultural entity in which young artists, technicians and professional managers have made it their mission to put the Performing Arts at the service of Education and Health, especially for young people and adolescents.

She is a specialist in person-centred innovation and legal education. With a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a Master of the Science of Law from Stanford University, in September 2023 she will join the PhD programme at the UB to study the impact of generative artificial intelligence on the teaching of law. She has also been an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy of Law at the University of Barcelona. In the corporate environment she is a UX researcher. She uses qualitative methodologies and design thinking to give voice to patients and users in the development of new medical solutions and treatments. She works in English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
