Aspen Institute España and Fundación Cañada Blanch celebrated the first edition of Aspen – Cañada Blanch Seminar which brought together 21 young emergent leaders, ages 25 to 30, from diferent areas of our society from June 15th to June 17th, 2018, at the Parador de El Saler, Valencia.
This first edition was titled “leadership and values” and was be moderated by Miguel Herrero de Jáuregui, professor of Classic Philology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and David Blázquez, Director of Programs and Development at Aspen Institute España.
Aspen lnstitute España is an independent nonprofit foundation in partnership with The Aspen Institute EEUU. The mission of Aspen Institute España is to promote values-based leadership and public policies. After 7 years, Aspen Institute España by the quality of its debates and seminars and its capacity to create a plural and balanced forum for the debate of critical societal issues.
The Fundación Cañada-Blach was founded in 1970, thanks to Vicente Cañada Blanch first donation. It’s mission is to promote the culture, specially among young students and to carry out cultural activities related to the latest research advantages, philosophy, the social debate and arts, of the Community of Valencia and the UK.
Following the leadership programs developed through the years by Aspen Institute España, the Aspen – Cañada Blanch Program on Leadership and Values aims to think and debate about leadership current issues and challenges in the XXI century. Participants debate around a selection of different classic and contemporaneous texts of political philosophy and literature. The seminar also introduces some current political, social and ethical tensions.
The seminar, moderated through the Socrates method used in other Aspen Institute programs, aims to improve the quality of the questions and the debate regarding the current big challenges and the timeless big issues around human values.
