The Future of Immigration and Backlash

On the 21st of June, 2019, we celebrated a new Aspen Espresso session, hosted by Justin Gest, associate Professor of Policy and Government at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University, moderator of the Socrates Program at The Aspen Institute and author of several books, among them “Crossroads: Comparative Immigration Regimes in a World of Demographic Change”.

The topic of the session was: “The Future of Immigration and Backlash”. Enrique Mora, General Director of Security and Foreign Policy at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation moderated the session.

Aspen Ideas Espresso is a forum for discussion on current issues for emerging leaders from different sectors of the society, many of whom have already participated in Aspen Institute España programs. On the occasion of the publication of books or important events, we bring together a group of people for a discussion with experts on topics such as geopolitics, new technologies, leadership, energy, and the international economy.
