Aspen Espresso: “The Role of the Constitutional Court”
Aspen Institute España hosted last February, 2nd a new Aspen Espresso session on “The Role of the Constitutional Court” with Marian Ahumada, Professor of Constitutional Law at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Aspen España Fellow. The debate was moderated by Román Gil, partner at Sagardoy and Aspen España Fellow.
Aspen Ideas Espresso is a forum for discussion on current issues for emerging leaders from different sectors of society, many of whom have already participated in Aspen Institute España programs. On the occasion of the publication of books or important events, we bring together a group of people for a discussion with experts on topics such as geopolitics, new technologies, leadership, energy, and the international economy.
Marian Ahumada
She obtained her LL.B. at the Universidad de Valladolid and holds a Ph.D. in Law with special doctor europaeus mention and extraordinary honour recognition from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. She also has a Diploma of Specialization in Constitutional Law and Political Science (special prize) from the Center for Constitutional Studies in Madrid. She won the National Award “Nicolás Pérez Serrano” for her doctoral thesis. She has been a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg and Global Research and Jean Monet Fellow at NYU Law School. Between 2008 and 2011, while on special leave from the University, she was Director-General for Legal Coordination of Spain’s Ministry of the Presidency.
