Upheaval: How Nations Cope with Crisis and Changes

On November 20th, 2019, we celebrated a new session of Aspen Espresso, hosted by Jared Diamond, Professor of Geography, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and Author, amongst others, of Collapse (2006) and the Pulitzer Prize winner Guns, Germs, and Steel (1997).

The topic of the session was: “Upheaval: How Nations Cope with Crisis and Changes”. Santiago Liniers, Program Director of the Aspen Institute España, moderated the session.

Aspen Espresso is a forum for discussion on current issues for emerging leaders from different sectors of the society, many of whom have already participated in Aspen Institute España programs. On the occasion of the publication of books or important events, we bring together a group of people for a discussion with experts on topics such as geopolitics, new technologies, leadership, energy, and the international economy.
