Las tertulias del Ecuestre con Aspen “Germany and Europe in the post-Merkel era”

Aspen Institute España and Círculo Ecuestre hosted last Wednesday, February 16 at 7.30pm a talk on «Germany and Europe in the post-Merkel era» with Pablo García-Berdoy, ambassador of Germany  (1991-1996) former Ambassador Permanent Representative of Spain to the European Union (2016-2021) in dialogue with José M. de Areilza, Secretary General of Aspen Institute España and holder of the Jean Monnet Chair-ESADE. Antonio Delgado, President of Círculo Ecuestre, welcomed the session.

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s long political life has been decisive in managing ongoing crises in the European Union over the past fourteen years. Now, many questions arise about what will be the contribution from Berlin to face the multiple economic and geopolitical challenges of the European Union.

“Las Tertulias del Ecuestre” are gatherings organized by Círculo Ecuestre together with leading institutions on various current affairs, such as Aspen Institute España, the Tocqueville Club or the European Institute of Design. A series of gatherings are organized in which, after a brief initial presentation by the invited speaker, the floor is passed to the Equestrian partners so that they can talk, debate and dialogue with the invited experts and other partners.
