Madeleine Albright on the Board of Trustees Aspen Institute España

Last Wednesday, September 16, 2020, we organized the meeting of the Aspen Institute España Board of Trustees, at the beginning of which we had the honor of receiving Madeleine K. Albright, member of the Board of The Aspen Institute and former Secretary of State .

Albright reviewed the current world order and, based on her reflections, the members of our Board had the opportunity to dialogue with her about the upcoming elections in the United States, and about China , Russia and other international policy issues, such as the recent peace agreement between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain promoted by President Trump. Albright analyzed the future of transatlantic relations and was convinced of the importance of organizations such as Aspen Institute to promote dialogue and build bridges between countries.

Mrs. Albright also shared with us the phrase that most defines her today: ¨a worried optimist, a decisive person and a grateful American¨, something about which we can read more in the book she has published this year ¨Hell and Other Destinations: A 21-st Century Memoir¨.
